John Towner Williams em Queens, Nova Iorque, em 8 de fevereiro de 1932, é um compositor americano premiado várias vezes por suas trilhas sonoras. É considerado um dos maiores compositores da atualidade. Ele já compôs temas para Jogos Olímpicos, para o NBC Nightly News, para a semana de reconstrução da Estátua da Liberdade, e inúmeras séries de TV. Tendo sido indicado a 47 Oscars, ele é a segunda pessoa mais indicada ao prêmio, atrás apenas de Walt Disney. É impossível não reconhecer seu estilo ao ouvir sua obra.
