Biografia:
Janis Lyn Joplin (19 de janeiro de 1943 – 4 de outubro de 1970) foi uma cantora e compositora norte-americana de blues, influenciada pelo rock e pelo soul com uma voz marcante. Joplin lançou quatro álbuns, desde 1967 até o lançamento póstumo do álbum "Pearl", em 1971.
Janis nasceu na cidade de Port Arthur, Texas, nos Estados Unidos. Ela cresceu ouvindo músicos de blues, tais como Bessie Smith e Big Mama Thornton e cantando no coro local.
