George Thorogood, nascido em 24 de fevereiro de 1950, em um subúrbio de Wilmington, que fica em Delaware, nos Estados Unidos.
É o guitarrista e líder da banda George Thorogood And The Destroyers de blues-rock, criada e ativa desde 1974.
Seu primeiro álbum foi gravado em 1974, mas lançado em 1979, chamado Better Than The Rest ("Melhor do que todo o resto"), acompanhado por Ron Smith na guitarra. Posteriormente à banda seriam integradados Hank Carter no saxofone, Jeff Simon na bateria e Bill Blough no baixo.
