Dona de uma voz doce, sedutora e elegante, ela tem formação em canto de jazz pelo Conservatório de Amsterdam. Caro tem 29 anos e seu nome real é Caroline van der Leeuw. Seu tipo físico não lembra em nada as altas e esguias loiras holandesas e o single Back It Up não estava destinado a ser interpretado por ela. Em 2007, Caro foi contratada por dois produtores holandeses que tinham acabado de escrever uma canção para um grupo pop japonês com o autor e compositor Vince Degiorgio (N’Synch et Love Inc.
