Biografia:
Inicialmente o Cactus foi planejado como um super grupo, com o Jeff Beck na Guitarra e o Rod Stewart nos vocais, mas Jeff Beck sofreu um acidente na época e o Rod Stewart se juntou a Ron Wood no The Faces.
A banda se formou no fim dos anos 60, com o baixista Tim Bogert, o baterista Carmine Appice (ex-Vanilla Fudge), o vocalista Rusty Day (ex- Amboy Dukes - banda do Ted Nugent) e o guitarrista Jim McCarty (ex- Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels e The Buddy Miles Express).
