Nascido e criado em New Hampshire, a inspiração de Brendan vem da rica e honrosa tradição de cantores/compositores da Nova Inglaterra. Apesar disso, diferente de seus predecessores, Brendan fundiu estas sensibilidades tradicionais com experiências de sua própria geração, resultando num som esmagador, único e original, ainda refletindo a simplicidade cheia de alma do passado.
