Bob Lind

Remember The Rain

por Bob Lind
Bob Lind

Biografia:

Bob Lind (born Robert Neale Lind, in Baltimore, Ohio, 25 November 1942) was a folk music singer/songwriter in the 1960s, who released one transatlantic chart hit single. That song was entitled "Elusive Butterfly", which was a prominent track in 1966.

[edit] Career
Lind signed a recording contract with World Pacific Records in 1965, and it was on that label that he had his huge hit. The single may have done even better in the UK Singles Chart had he not had competition from Val Doonican, who released a rival version of the same song.

on WORLD PACIFIC Records in 1966.

INTRO: E Gbm E Abm E

#1.
E B Abm
Angel that you are, you still remember summer walks
E
and quiet talks we had before our clouds were breaking.
E Ab
In the heaven of your mind your hopeful heart has put
Abm E B E
behind all the ugly jealous times our hearts were aching.

#2.
Am E A
Now that your pain has been mended, you're only seeing one
E A E A
side, behind the bright, easy, laughter, rivers of tears have
E
been cried.
Gbm B E
So, remember the rain, when you think of the sunshine.
A Dbm
You've got to try and see that's it's gone for you and me
Gb Gbm E
and there is no way to bring it back again.

#3.
E B Abm
In a sad unstable way I love you more than I could say
Gbm B E
but it's locked in yesterday and must remain there.
E B
The gentle prisoner in the stall sometimes forgets the very
Abm B E
walls that gave her shelter in the fall, have also chained her.

BRIDGE:
A E A E
Drink from the spring of tomorrow, yesterday's well has gone dry.
A E A E
All the good times are behind us whenever you ask yourself why.
Gbm B E
Just remember the rain, when you think of the sunshine.
A Dbm
On the ocean of a smile we floated easy for awhile but now we're
Gbm E
drifted to the shore where beauty dies.

#4.
E Abm
It isn't easy to explain, I never dreamed you felt the same and
B E
even though you're not to blame we can't continue.
E B Abm
Don't let yourself pretend that we've got something to defend,
Gbm B E
you've got to try to face the end with all that's in you.

OUTRO:
A E A E
Oh, I can't deny that I love you but my soul can no longer be bound.
A E A E
Fly on the wings of your freedom but whenever you look to the ground..
Gbm B E
just remember the rain, when you think of the sunshine.
A Dbm Gb
Try to understand that it has fallen from our hands and just be thankful
Gbm E
that your soul is still your own.

A sixties smash from Kraziekhat.
