Biografia:
Ben E. King (nascido Benjamin Earl Nelson em 30 de novembro de 1936, em Henderson, Carolina do Norte; e falecido em 30 de abril de 2015) mudou-se para o Harlem, em New York, com a idade de 9 anos. Começou como cantor de soul no ínicio dos anos sessenta. Em 1958, Ben Nelson juntou-se a um grupo de "doo wop" chamado "The Five Crowns". Mais tarde, naquele ano, o agente do "The Drifters" despediu todos os membros e trocou-os pelo pessoal do"The Five Crowns".
