Benjamin Barnes nasceu em 20 de Agosto em Londres, Inglaterra. Começou fazendo pequenos trabalhos na televisão inglesa como em "Doctors" e "Split Decision". Seu grande início de sucesso de crítica, foi no teatro, onde fez peças de sucesso, incluindo "The History Boys", peça premiada dirigida por Alan Bennett. Sua estréia no cinema foi com o filme "Stardust" e logo após foi protagonista de um filme independente chamado "Bigga Than Ben". Seu estrelato em Hollywood
