Antes vista como a versão britânica da canadense Avril Lavigne, a jovem Amy Studt é uma cantora nascida em Londres e que mistura em seu repertório o pop com um som alternativo/indie.
No seu debut, em 2002, Amy trazia na sua sonoridade um som pop/rock bem ao estilo das cantoras mais "rebeldes". Nesse período, Amy arquivou um total de 4 singles - sendo que todos entraram no top 25 do UK - Just a Little Girl (nº 14), Misfit (nº 6), Under the thumb (nº 10) e All I wanna do (nº 21) - e um álbum que vendeu 200.
