American Football foi uma banda de midwest emo de Urbana, Illinois, Estados Unidos, ativa entre 1997 e 2000. Foi formada pelo guitarrista e vocalista Mike Kinsella (que tocou também nas bandas Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc e Owls, atualmente Owen) e o baterista Steve Lamos (que tocou no The One Up Downstairs e atualmente toca no The Geese), e também incluiu o guitarrista Steve Holmes.
