O guitarrista e vocalista Alvin Lee nasceu em 1944 em Nottingham, Inglaterra.
No final da década de 60 montou o Ten Years After, banda seminal que gravou ótimos álbuns e ficou marcada por uma apresentação explosiva no Festival de Woodstock em 1969.
