É deduzido (por conta da música Shelby Moves), que ele tenha nascido na menor cidade dos Estados Unidos, chamada de Lost Springs, no estado de Wyoming. Sozinho, Allan compõe e produz as suas canções que detêm letras que contam histórias sobre vida, morte e amor, mesclando R&B, Rock Alternativo e Soul com a sua ríspida e singular voz. Além disso, ele roteiriza e dirige os filmes para suas músicas (sim, filmes).
