Biografia:
Mandisa Lynn Hundley nasceu e foi criada em Citrus Heights, Califórnia. Depois de se formar a partir de El Camino Ensino Fundamental alta, ela participou de American River College, em Sacramento, onde estudou Jazz Vocal. Então, ela estudou na Fisk University, em Tennessee e se graduou com uma licenciatura de grau música com uma concentração na performance vocal.
Mandisa fez um teste para talent show American Idol na competição em Chicago. Ela se referiu a si mesma como "apenas Mandisa"
