Sugar Ray é uma banda de rock de Orange County, Califórnia. A banda foi formada em 1992 com o nome Shrinky DinX, posteriormente alterá-lo para Sugar Ray
Seu álbum de estréia, Lemonade and Brownies, foi lançado em 1995. Ele não conseguiu produzir um grande hit. Seus primeiros trabalhos foram fortemente influenciados pelo funk metal, punk, rock alternativo e em linha reta até R & B, não uma combinação particularmente em moda na época.
