Em 31 de Julho de 2012, Snoop Dogg mudou seu pseudônimo para Snoop Lion. Snoop disse aos repórteres que esse nome lhe foi dado na Jamaica, por um padre Rastafari. Ele teria dito ainda que em seu novo álbum Reincarnated, "reencarnou" o músico Bob Marley.
