Seether é uma banda de post-grunge/hard rock que vai desde misturas com outros estilos com o grunge e o hard rock, originalmente chamada de Saron Gas, África do Sul. mudaram o nome em 2002, tomaram auge com o sucesso do segundo album e major label debut, Disclaimer. O estilo de Shaun Morgan e as técnicas vocais são comparadas às de Jim Morrison e Kurt Cobain.
Em março de 2007, criaram musicas relacionadas às bandas alternativas dos anos 90 e às 90's "Grunge".
