Wheeland Brothers

Shark Harbor Lullaby

por Wheeland Brothers
Wheeland Brothers

Biografia:

Wheeland Brothers are two Southern Californian brothers who grew up in Orange County surfing, scarfing down hole-in-the wall Mexican food, and jamming around bonfires. Their music has a sound which they describe as “beach rock reggae”; inspired by waves, hangin’ with friends, and dreaming of distant shores. They combine the cool attitude and summertime energy of reggae with the down-to-earth, organic honesty of acoustic rock and ukulele lullabies.

This is a great song to play on ukulele!

[Intro]
C F C F C G
C
We've been far across the ocean
F C
Went by car and boat and bus
F C G
But so far I'm feelin' closer than we've ever been before
C F C
Traveled all along the coastline to our little island cove
F C G
All along this world keeps pushing on but we've been moving slow
F G Gb F Gb G
mmm badadadababa

[Verse 1]
C F C
Settled in beside a beach fire, dug our feet deep in the sand
F C G
Settlin' for city livin' is something I can't understand
C F C
We've been up and down this coastline, we've seen all the big time lights
F C G
Until now I never noticed how many stars are in the sky

[Chorus]
F C
Someday we'll think about these days
F C
And if home is just a place then why are we only visiting
Am C
The sun and the waves, the melodies we've made
F C
All the memories we maybe need to make again

[Verse 2]
C F C
Yesterday the next cove over, swimmin' naked in the sea
F C G
With a smile as bright as our tan lines, just my girl and me
C F C
Through the wind and rain and thunder our little tent still stood
F C G
As the morning broke and we awoke the storm had left for good
C F C
We've been meeting all the locals, all the lobsters and the fish
F C G
So we swam right up and puckered up to greet them with a kiss

[Chorus]
F C
Someday we'll think about these days
F C
And if home is just a place then why are we only visiting
Am C
The sun and the waves, the melodies we've made
F
All the memories we maybe need to make them
C
Oo maybe we could make them again

[Outro]
C
We've been far across the ocean
F C
Went by car and boat and bus
F C G C
But so far I'm feelin' closer than we've ever been before
