Wally Pleasant

Dead Rock And Roll Stars

por Wally Pleasant
Wally Pleasant

Biografia:

Wally Pleasant is a comedic singer from Lansing, MI. He plays humorous songs based on folk music & 1950s-60s rock and roll influences.

Born in Detroit, Pleasant did not become a serious guitarist until college. While majoring in political science at Michigan State University, he performed at various Lansing-area open mic nights, gaining significant local popularity. A successful homemade cassette tape in the late 1980s led him to release a total of six CDs, the first five on his own record label Miranda Records.

D A G
Last night I dreamed that all the dead rock n roll stars that I can think of
D
were knockin at my door

D A G D
There was Jimi Hendix, Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, Marvin Gaye, and many more

D A G
So I invited them all into my apartment and said hey guys make yourselves at
D
home

D A G D
Elvis came in and said he was hungry, Jim Morrison started writing a poem

D A G
Oh all the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were
D
hanging out in my apartment

D A G
All the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were hanging
D
out in my dream

D A G
Well Keith Moon just started smashin all my stuff, Sid Vicious sat in the
D
corner trying to look tough

D A G
And Stevie Ray Vaughn was still singin the blues, Randy Rhodes was lying down
D
on my couch taking a snooze

D A G D
Eddie Cochran was getting high with Bob Marley Roy Orbison just pulled in on

his Harley

D A G
John Lennon was playing chess with Brian Jones Karen Carpenter was looking
D
like skin on bones

D A G
All the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were knockin
D
at my door

D A G
All the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were knockin
D
down my sense of reality

D G D A
They said When you die you'll never grow old, they'll make a movie about your
D
life, and your records turn gold

G D A
So dying really aint nothing to fear, in fact it's the best thing that you
G D
can do for your career

D A G D

D A G
Well suddenly all the dead rock n roll stars got up and said Wally we're
D
sorry but we cant stay

D A G D
You see we're due back in Heaven and we really dont have anything else to say

D A G D
So as they were walking away into the night I wasnt feeling quite right

D A G
Part of me wanted to cry and part of me wanted to laugh part of me wanted to
D
ask for everybodys autogragh

D A G
All the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were hanging
D
out in my apartment

D A G
All the dead, all the dead, rock n roll stars, rock n roll stars were hanging
D
out in my dream

D A G D (ONE STRUM ON D)
