Biografia:
Tortoise é uma banda estado-unidense de rock instrumental experimental sendo definida na linha post-rock formada em Chicago (Illinois) em 1990. Seus membros tem raízes na fértil cena musical de Chicago, tendo tocado em várias bandas de indie rock e punk rock locais com influencias de krautrock, dub, jazz e indie rock.
Uma das características marcantes do grupo é rotatividade de seus integrantes durante a execução das músicas onde todos podem alternar entre vários instrumentos, sendo versáteis até com duas baterias ao mesmo tempo.
