tobyMac lançou sua estréia solo, Momentum, em 2001, quando os três membros do dc Talk resolveram dar um tempo do grupo e criarem projetos separados. Seguindo sua estréia veio Re:Mix Momentum, Welcome to Diverse City, e Renovating Diverse City, assim como um DVD e um CD single de natal.
