Tired Pony é um projeto paralelo do vocalista do Snow Patrol, Gary Lightbody.
A banda é composta por Gary, Peter Buck [R.E.M.], Scott McCaughey, Troy Stewart, Iain Archer, Richard Colburn [Belle and Sebastian] e Jacknife Lee.
A banda vem sido descrita como "country", mas Lightbody fez questão de esclarecer que "ela só tem uma pegada country, assim não haverá nenhum desapontamento ou confusão quando ele [o álbum] sair e não soar como Waylon Jennings ou Gram Parsons."
