Tabbed by: Mohamed Awad (Cairo, Egypt. Sept 2nd, 2017)

Another great song from a Portland band. This tab is based on the studio version. In the live Unpeeled
edition, they use a capo on the forth fret and play it in E. I'm using a capo on 1st and playing in G.
Strumming pattern is the same as it's just a play onn the pattern below.
It's all three basic chords G (355433), C (x35553), D7 (x57575). I use all barred but it would totally
work whichever way you want to.

(Picking Pattern)
e|--------------------3---------|
B|------4-----4-----------5-----|
G|------5-----5-----------4-----|
D|---------5------------5-------|
A|------------------------------|
E|--3------------3-----------3--|

[Intro]
G G

[Verse]
G C
When I checked back in I was a fool and I was kissing underneath the storm of birds
G
They would fly right at us and then swerve
D7
As if trying to act out words
G
She called it a bad omen after I had named it lucky
C
we began to drift from there
G
And that used to be a secret kept with care
D7
‘Till i started writing songs
G
And once that one had ended I was sad but empathetic
C
And it rolled around my head
G
Like a cartoon chase that never ends
D7
Where no one gets to catch the mouse

[Chorus]
G
Sings restless, restless springs
D7
I’m in love with too many things
C
You'll have to find me a bigger heart
G D7
a bigger heart

[Verse]
G
When I looked back up
C
oh i was standing at the border with the sea air in my face
G
Straining for horizons far away
D7
As it was dark as any night
G
And with the cold wind blowin' inlands

That's when I heard the water talking
C G
say "infinity is fine, as long as you let the rest of it be mine
D7
between a rattle and a sigh"
G
Though the party always beacons
There's a bonfire for warming
C
There's a flicker in her eye
G
If I can only find the words to fit your stride
D7
To make that flower bloom
G
Though some evenings are for dancing
Others for blowing candles
C
Wish I knew which was which kind
G
Wish I knew which was which kind
D7
Wish I knew

[Verse]
G
When I checked back in
I was a fool and I was kissing
C
Underneath the storm of birds
G
And it became a city on the run
D7
It'd changed before my eyes
G
Sometimes it gets quiet
C
The kind you can't wish away
G
And I'm convinced it'll be the death of me
D7
The death of me someday
G
When I checked back in I was a fool and I was kissing
G
underneath the storm of birds
