The Sheepdogs surgiu em 2006 na cidade canadense de Saskatoon, no estado de Saskatchewan, consistindo em Ewan Currie nos vocais e guitarra, Leot Hanson na guitarra, Ryan Gullen no baixo e Sam Corbett na bateria. A banda mistura o clássico Boogie Rock do Sul dos EUA, Blues e Modern Rock. Enquanto a maioria das bandas de rock são muito focado no riff, The Sheepdogs lembra a importância dos outros elementos que fazem o Rock: melodia, harmonia e groove.
