Biografia:
A banda The Rakes - Alan Donohoe (vocal), Matthew Swinnerton (guitarra), Jamie Hornsmith (baixo), e Lasse Petersen (bateria) - surgiu em Londres no verão de 2004 com o hit "22 Grand Job", que foi lançado como um 7" de edição limitada pelo selo Trash Aesthetics. Com uma sonoridade característica da cena londrina da época (leia-se Bloc Party, Art Brut, etc.), lançou o seu primeiro álbum ("Capture/Release") em 2005, pelo selo v2.
Lançaram seu segundo CD em 2009 e se separaram em outubro do mesmo ano.
