Biografia:
The Promise Ring foi uma banda emo formada em 1995 em Milwaukee, que começou como um projeto paralelo de Davey von Bohlen quando ele era guitarrista/vocalista do Cap'n Jazz. Von Bohlen começou o projeto junto com o guitarrista Jason Gnewikow do None Left Standing, o baterista Dan Didier do Ceilishrine e o baixista Scott Beschta.
Em 1996 lançaram seu primeiro álbum, o 30° Everywhere, pelo selo Jade Tree Records. Em 2007 foram lançados o Nothing Feels Good e o The Horse Latitudes
