Biografia:
The Mars Volta foi uma banda fundada por Cedric Bixler-Zavala e Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, na cidade de El Paso, Texas, Estados Unidos, em 2001 e teve seu fim em 2013. São considerados uma banda de rock, com influências de punk rock, rock progressivo e música latina.
Membros da banda At the Drive-In, Cedric Bixler-Zavala e Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, faziam parte do De Facto com o técnico de áudio Jeremy Michael Ward desde meados dos anos 90. De Facto tinha Cedric na bateria, Omar no baixo e Jeremy no vocal, e efeitos de distorção.
