Title: Last of the Red Hot Fools

[Chorus]
A D
I been a fool played it dumb
E A
Shoulda played it smart
D E
Used my head but not my heart
A D
Musta been crazy played it hot
E A
I shoulda played it cool
D E A
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools

[Verse]

Whoa
F#m
Everybody said you were an easy mark
D E
It was a cinch to catch your eye
A
Just a matter of getting your attention
F#m
Acting suggestive
D A
And not being coy and shy

[Chorus]
A D
I been a fool played it dumb
E A
Shoulda played it smart
D E
Used my head but not my heart
A D
Musta been crazy played it hot
E A
I shoulda played it cool
D E A
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools

[Verse]

Yeah
F#m
When I was alone and I would think of you
D E
I always knew what I would say
A
But whenever I'd see you I'd shiver
F#m
And say something silly
D A
Or just look the other way

[Pre-Chorus]
F#m
And instead of even trying

I just shut up
D E
And looked for an excuse to say good-bye

[Chorus]
A D
I been a fool played it dumb
E A
Shoulda played it smart
D E
Used my head but not my heart
A D
Musta been crazy played it hot
E A
I shoulda played it cool
D E A F#
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools

[Bridge]

Oh yeah
B E
I didn't understand what was wrong with me
B E
I didn't understand what was making me shy

I knew I had to choose

I didn't want to lose
F#
But how can I win when I'm too scared to try

[Verse]

Oh oh
G#m
All my friends say I should call you up
E F#
You'd be sure to see the light
B
Just a matter of picking up the phone book
G#m
looking up the number
E B
and calling you up that night

[Pre-Chorus]
G#m
But, instead of trying harder
E F#
I just jumped up and hung up the receiver when you said 'Hi'

[Chorus]
B E
I been a fool played it dumb
F# B
Shoulda played it smart
E F#
Used my head but not my heart
B E
Musta been crazy played it hot
F# B
I shoulda played it cool
E F# B
Now I'm just the last of the red hot f-f-fools
E
Played it dumb
F# B
Shoulda played it smart
E F#
Used my head but not my heart
B E
Musta been crazy played it hot
F# B
I shoulda played it cool
E F# B
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools
E F# B
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools
E F# B
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools
E F# B
Now I'm just the last of the red hot fools
