The Hiatus, oficialmente escrito como the HIATUS é uma banda de rock japonesa formada por Takeshi Hosomi, ex-líder do Ellegarden.
Formada durante a primavera de 2009 após o anúncio do hiato da banda Ellegarden em Maio de 2008, começou como projeto solo do Takeshi Hosomi, sem apresentações ao vivo, e outros membros foram chamados pra gravar o primeiro álbum. Esses membros são o guitarrista Masasucks do Fullscratch
