Antes de assinar com a gravadora Tooth & Nail, o vocalista Ben Crist escreveu e tocou muitas das músicas da banda em sua igreja, A Sociedade Âncora. A banda lançou seu primeiro álbum, Tonight the Stars Speak, em 2007. Crist começou sua carreira na indústria da música, executando na banda de culto no Vineyard Atlanta.
