No começo dos anos 80, a Inglaterra vivia a ressaca do movimento punk encabeçado por bandas como Sex Pistols e The Clash. Esse som anárquico dos plebeus da rainha acabou influenciando diretamente o nascimento de uma leva de ótimas bandas de rock. Foi nessa efervescência cultural que um rapaz chamado Ian Astbury começou a mostrar talento musical.
