Biografia:
Sloan é uma quarteto de power pop de Halifax, Nova Escócia, Canadá.
A banda foi formada em 1991, quando Chris Murphy e Andrew Scott se conheceram na faculdade de arte e design na Nova Scotia College (NSCAD); Patrick Pentland e Jay Ferguson juntaram-se aos dois depois.
Em 1992, a banda criou o seu próprio selo de gravação, o Murderecords, para seus trabalhos e os de outras bandas locais.
