Biografia:
Rosetta Nubin, nascida em Cotton Plant, Arkansas, ela começou a atuar aos quatro anos, se anunciando como "Little Rosetta Nubin, the singing and guitar playing miracle", acompanhada de sua mãe, a evangelista Nubin Katie Bell do coral da Igreja de Deus em Cristo (Church of God in Christ), que tocava bandolim e pregava em tendas de renascimento por todo o sul. Exposto a tanto blues e jazz, tanto no Sul e depois sua família se mudou para Chicago no final de 1920
