Após ter tocado em várias bandas do circuito underground de Luxemburgo, o cantor-compositor Jerome Reuter, quase por acaso, fundou o Rome em dezembro de 2005 ao lançar a hoje lendária demo tape no estúdio caseiro de um amigo na Alemanha. A demo hoje é conhecida como o primeiro registro lançado do Rome, o EP Berlin, e o amigo e engenheiro de som, Patrick Damiani, acabou se tornando a segunda força criativa no Rome.
