A banda Negative formou-se em 1997 em Tampere, Finlândia. Desde os seus inícios, esta banda ganhou a reputação de ser muito intensa ao vivo, o que brindando o público com melodias e riffs atractivos. O som da banda pode ser comparado às primeiras bandas de glam rock como David Bowie e Queen. Eles próprios consideram a sua música como "rock’n roll emotivo".
