Biografia:
Nascido em 2 de Agosto de 1960 em San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Neal Morse começou a tocar piano aos cinco anos, tendo como principal referência seu pai, regente de coral. Pouco após começar a praticar piano, começou também a tocar violão. Aos vinte, escreveu músicas e tentou conseguir trabalhos como cantor ou compositor em Los Angeles. Gravou algumas demos de country com seu irmão Richard, mas não obteve sucesso.
Cansado da cena musical de sua cidade, decidiu fazer uma viagem pela Europa, tocando em bares e também na rua.
