Biografia:
O Mother Love Bone foi uma banda formada em 1988 em Seattle, Washington por ex-membros das bandas Green River e Malfunkshun. A personalidade carismática e as composições do vocalista Andrew Wood levaram a banda a ser notada na cena underground de Seattle, e no início de 1989 a banda assinou com a gravadora Polygram.
No final de 1989, a banda lançou seu primeiro EP, "Shine", que vendeu muito bem e muito rápido, aumentando ainda mais o hype em volta da banda. Logo a banda retornou ao estúdio para gravar seu album de estréia, "Apple".
