Biografia:
Lionel começou sua carreira profissional ao lado do grupo The Mystics, que dois anos depois mudou o nome para The Commodores e chegou a ser um dos conjuntos de soul de maior sucesso na década de 70.
Já no início dos anos 80 veio ‘Endless Love’, uma composição de Richie para o filme Amor Sem Fim (1981). A música, gravada em parceria com a cantora Diana Ross, é até hoje um dos temas musicais mais vendidos na história do cinema. O nome do autor da canção ficava cada vez mais conhecido.
