Biografia:
Descendente de índios, italianos, alemães e africanos, ele foi adotado muito cedo por um casal branco que vivia em uma comunidade predominantemente negra em Oakland, na Califórnia. Pouco antes de completar 20 anos ele decidiu abandonar a faculdade e a bolsa de estudos pelo time de basquete para montar uma banda. Através da música, se transformou em ativista e em defensor da justiça social. Viajou para Bagdá e para a Faixa de Gaza, onde se apresentou para o povo local
