Mark Erelli - Ice Fishing

CAPO: 2nd Fret

[Intro]
F C F C F

[Verse 1]
C F
The snow lay up against the curb
Em Am G F
Finally beaten by the sun
C D
Across the street the noon whistle blows
F G F
Calling back everyone

[Verse 2]
C F
They came out from the luncheonettes
Em Am G F
Taverns and pharmacies
C D
Crossed the wet street back to work
F G F
Coats unbuttoned, talking easily

[Verse 3]
C F
Ice is cracked on the river
Em Am G F
Rolling out to the bay
C D
On one floe rides a bob-house
F G F
There's always one who stays out too long they say

[Verse 4]
C F
And there ain't much to millwork
Em Am G F
The days just go on and on and on
C D
And there ain't much to leaving home
F G F
Till you finally cut the cord and know that you're gone

[Verse 5]
C F
And there ain't much to ice fishing
Em Am G F
Till you're gone a day or more
C D
And the hole you've cut freezes over
F G
And it's like you have never been there before

[Outro]
F C F C F
