De onde vem o nome “LOBO” ? Esta sempre é a primeira pergunta que se faz sobre o pop star LOBO, cujo nome real é Roland Kent LaVoie. Este nome deve-se ao fato dele estar sempre com seu cachorro pastor alemão, chamado BOO, que realmente parece com um lobo. LOBO recentemente mudou-se para Nasville, Tennesee, onde ele tem uma vida calma com sua esposa Susie e seus cães e gatos.
Ele viveu por muito tempo na Florida e alguma parte do seu tempo, também em sua casa na montanha na Carolina do Norte.
