Lights Valerie Poxleitner nasceu em 11 de abril 1987. Conhecida pelo nome artístico, Lights é uma cantora e compositora canadense que já possui um Juno Awards em seu currículo.
Lights nasceu na cidade de Timmins, Ontario (Canadá). Ela é filha de pais missionários e passou muito tempo da sua infância em várias partes do mundo, desde as Filipinas até à Jamaica. Tem descendência alemã e austríaca. Correntemente vive em Vancouver (Canadá) com seu marido Beau Bokan e sua filha Rocket Wild Bokan.
