Laura Welsh, que, inicialmente, se identificava artisticamente como Laura and the Tears e, também, Hey Laura, apareceu em 2012 com o single "Hollow Drum". Em 2013, a britânica ganhou a atenção dos blogs musicais com as músicas "Unravel", "Cold Front" e "Undiscovered". Outros singles, como "Here For You" e "Break The Fall" saíram no ano seguinte.
