Biografia:
Jonathan Larson (4 de Fevereiro, 1960 – 25 de Janeiro, 1996) foi um compositor e dramaturgo vencedor do Tony Award que viveu em Nova York e foi autor de musicais, incluindo Rent e Tick, Tick...Boom!. Esses musicais abordam questões sérias como multiculturalismo, vícios, homofobia e a epidemia de AIDS. Seu objetivo era juntar a Geração X e a Geração MTV com o mundo dos musicais em seu trabalho. Essa missão foi de certa forma alcançada pelo seu Magnus opus Rent, ganhador do Prêmio Pulitzer de Drama e quatro Tony Awards.
