Biografia:
Foi uma banda de alternative rock/grunge formada em 1985, em Los Angeles, Califórnia; por Donita Sparks e Suzi Gardner, mais tarde, juntando-se à Jennifer Finch e Dee Plakas.
Elas assinaram com a Epitaph Records para seu primeiro álbum e com a Sub Pop em 1989.
O nome da banda foi tirado de uma gíria da década de 50, que significa "quadrado".
Em 1991, a banda formou o "Rock For Choise", um grupo de pré-escolhas dos direitos das mulheres, que foi apoiado por outras bandas daquela época
