Biografia:
Katatonia é uma banda Sueca de doom metal formada em 1991 por Jonas Renkse (anteriormente conhecido por Lord Seth) e Anders Nyström (anteriormente Blakkheim). A banda é conhecida pela melancolia de seu som, sendo por isso frequentemente classificada como dark metal ou Doom Metal.
A alusão à palavra catatonia (do Grego katá, redução + tónos, tensão; perturbação psicomotora frequentemente associada à esquizofrenia), define bem o tipo de emoção que a banda passa em suas músicas.
