G#m E B F#

[Verse]

G#m
I'm searching for the words.
B
I'm looking for a way to renew my faith in humanity.
E B
Are people born bad? Are people born good,
F#
or passive, and controlled way to easily?
G#m B
Something must have happened along the way
E
to cause this selfishness and hate.

This greed and need for things,
B F#
everywhere I look it's take take take take.

[Bridge]

E
And you can close your eyes and
B F# E
live in this dream that you've made.
B F#
I promise you one night you'll wake up screaming
E B F# E
to the realization all of this is fake.
B F#
I promise you for some this night will never end.

It will never end.

G#m E B F#

[Verse]

G#m
I'm trying to find a way
B E
to understand how people justify how much they take.
B
White collared crimes by well dressed thieves
F#
every day in the casino's on Wall Street.
G#m
Taking from the penniless,
B E
they die of thirst while your cup overfills.

This greed and need to control.
B F#
everywhere I look it's take take take take.

[Bridge]

E
And you can close your eyes and
B F# E
live in this dream that you've made.
B F#
I promise you one night you'll wake up screaming
E B F# E
to the realization all of this is fake.
B F#
I promise you for some this night will never end.

[Chorus]
B
Because there are monsters among us.
F#
There are some you can't see.
G#m
They're disguised in their suits, nice shoes, and ties,
F#
and they take vengeance on ethics and honesty.
B F#
Can somebody tell me who's left to trust in this world?
G#m
A golden pass for the upper class.
F#
A place on the bus for the rest of us.

G#m F# B E
