Imelda já dividiu o palco com Alison Moyet, Dionne Warwick, Bryan Ferry, Anastasia, The Supremes, Scissor Sisters, Matt Bianco, Elvis Costello, Jools Holland, Elton John e Jeff Beck. Ela também passou quatro anos como vocalista do Mike Sanchez 's, uma banda de rhythm and blues.
