But now that I’m a man and I’m fully grown
C F Em
I stand and face the world all by myself
F C
If what they said is true
G Am
That I’m a lot like you
Dm Cadd9 F G
You know we’re sharing more than just a name

[CHORUS]
G Am C
Cause every time I look into the mirror
F C
I see you standing there
G Am C F
Every day I realize you’re more a part of me
G Am C
I am but a face among the crowd
G Am
I hope I’ve made you proud
F C F
I hope I’m half the man you thought I’d be

C F C
I’ve been working hard most every night

Singing all my songs under the spotlight

I feel I’ve had enough
Dm Cadd9 F G
But I recall the words you spoke to me

C F C
If you can keep your head and carry on
C F Em
If you can share your strength with those who need
F C
If you can watch it all cave in
G Am
And up and build again
Dm Cadd9 F G
Then you’ll be a man I do believe

[CHORUS]
G Am C
Cause every time I look into the mirror
F C
I see you standing there
G Am C F
Every day I realize you’re more a part of me
G Am C
I am but a face among the crowd
G Am
I hope I’ve made you proud
F C F
I hope I’m half the man you thought I’d be

[VERSE]
F Am C

I hope I’ve made you proud
F C F
I hope I’m half the man you taught me to be
