Insomnium é uma banda de melodic death metal formada em 1997 em Joensuu, Finlândia, influenciada por doom metal, suas letras abordam temas como tristeza, morte e perda. Eles também incorporam elementos de Folk Nórdico, e musica Sinfônica em seu som. A musica do Insomnium, se tornou lenta e progressiva com o tempo, e com ocasionais influências de Doom Metal.
